Spell Jars are a simple yet powerful form of magic that can be used for various purposes, such as protection, love, abundance, and healing.

Setting Your Intention

Be concise & very clear on your intention! Write it on a piece of paper or even on a Bay leaf to be added to your jar. Sample intentions:

More Balance between work time & leisure time
Make Healthier Choices for my body or mind
Financial Freedom
Positive Outlook

Choosing the Right Jar or Container

The jars can be made using a variety of materials, such as glass, metal, or ceramic. I love a mason jar! I also use jelly jars that are sold locally that are the shape of a mason jar and have a handle. You can get fun apothecary jars or a metal tin. You can even use a box. Whatever feels best for your intentions.

Selecting the Right Ingredients

The ingredients used in a Spell Jar should correspond to the specific intention of the spell. For example, if the spell is for love, ingredients such as rose petals, lavender, and cinnamon sticks can be used.

Filling the Jar With your Intentions

Once the jar and ingredients have been chosen, the next step is to fill the jar with the ingredients. It is important to focus on the intention of the spell while doing so.

Sealing and Charging Your Jar

Seal the jar with a lid or cork and drip wax around the lid if you like. Pplace it somewhere special where you can see it often, on your altar, your bedside table, or even in a cup holder in your car. Every time you look at it, remember your intention and trust that the universe is working to make it a reality.

Follow Your Intuition

It’s helpful to know the meaning of your ingredients but follow your intuition. If you are called to add an item but it doesn’t necessarily “mean” what you intend, go for it anyway. The meanings are fluid, tap into the energy you feel from the item!

Closing your Ritual

After you have placed all your items in your jar and sealed the lid, repeat the following mantra 3 times:

As Universe renews its cycles,

So shall my intention come to life.

With this jar, I seal my desire,

And let the universe bring it to me.
